Rare watercolour painting depicting a battle between a French dragoon and an Ottoman soldier, from the Egyptian Campaign. Signed MES in the lower right. There is a pencil inscription on the border of the mount identifying the French soldier as Pierre Castellan and dating the scene to 1801.

Condition: some wear to the mount, minor scuffs to the paper
