Style note — Arts & Crafts was a major international movement in design. It started in Victorian Britain in the 1860s, and came as a reaction to the industrialisation and mass production. It was about simple and functional, high quality and skilfully produced homewares and furniture, using simple natural materials.

Facts of Lavish Tip — glass is a pretty tough material. Wash old glassware normally in a warm soapy water. Watch out for gilding and enamelling, do not scrub hard.
