Beautiful pair of silver plated extendable candlesticks with an acanthus leaf decoration on the collars and base; antique English Late Georgian William IV 1830s.

Condition: some plating worn

Size: collapsed 21 cm high, 11 cm diameter

Style notes — late Georgian period mainly refers to the early 19th century, up to 1838. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
