Style notes — late Georgian period mainly refers to the early 19th century, up to 1838. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
Facts of Lavish Cool history — tax on tea was so high in the 18th century Britain, that smuggling was a common practice. By 1780 most of the tea consumed was illegally imported.
