Style notes — late Georgian period mainly refers to the early 19th century, up to 1838. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
Facts of Lavish History bits — blown and moulded glass decanters were first made by the ancient Romans. Essentially these were glass bottles.
