Spectacular Art Deco barrel decanter in blown glass with fluted pattern. Ideal for serving whisky, liqueurs as well as port and sherry; vintage English 1920s.

Style note — items in the Art Deco style were often produced using new materials of the period, such as stainless steel, aluminium and Bakelite – an early type of plastic. Bold colours were used to produce attractive design by creating strong contrasts.
Facts of Lavish Tip — clouded surface inside an old decanter is hard to fix, it requires a vibrating machine and acid; but this is a non-issue, because when a decanter is full with liquid, the glass becomes transparent.
