Spectacular blown amber glass vase, of a heavy baluster shape with applied Peacock Trails or Cairngorm decoration, unsigned but possibly by Stuart & Sons or James Powell & Sons (Whitefriars) glassworks of Stourbridge; antique English, circa 1900.

Style note — Arts & Crafts was a major international movement in design. It started in Victorian Britain in the 1860s, and came as a reaction to the industrialisation and mass production. It was about simple and functional, high quality and skilfully produced homewares and furniture, using simple natural materials.
