Spectacular large wine or champagne cooler in copper with clean tinned interior, of a cauldron shape with two handles, hammered surface with a decorative panel around the rim, by Carl Deffner; antique German Art Nouveau, Edwardian period from the 1900s. Originally this was designed as a punch bowl (see the additional image), with a glass liner and the covers.

Edwardian period lasted between 1901-1910, however, when describing the style of homewares, it is loosely applied to the early 1900s. The main features of the Edwardian style are elegance, fairly reserved and very tasteful decoration and the accent on the function of each item.
