View condition. Decadent near set of three high quality wine glasses, two large (13.5 cm) and one small (12.5 cm), with seven sided cut stems reaching to petal cuts in lower bowl. Wide foot with heat-softened pontil marks. The bowls carry superb sun-burst engraved roundels and the initials EC. These glasses are the last remains of a very grand set. Antique English Regency circa 1820.

Style notes — late Georgian period mainly refers to the early 19th century, up to 1838. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
