Beautiful pair of large candelabras in solid 800 grade silver, each with four eagle shaped branches around a central column, gadrooned and acanthus leaf decoration; antique Continental European, probably Austrian, Neo-Classical style late 19th century.

Condition: some surface wear, slightly bent

Size: Wide: 21 cm Height: 32 cm

Style note — Neo-classical style looks back at and draws its design inspiration from the ancient Greece and Rome, and uses those elements in decoration. Most neo-classical items are defined by straight and clean lines, elegant repetitive floral patterns, floral garlands and gadrooning.

Facts of Lavish Majority of antique candelabras were designed also to be used as candlesticks by simply removing the branches. That’s a great household accessory.
