Majolica serving dish
Shabby chic Victorian serving dish with floral pattern in majolica; antique English late 19th century.
Condition: minor surface wear, hairline cracks in the glaze
Long Victorian period (1838−1901) spanned over an immensely prolific time in the history of art and design. It covers such great fashions as Gothic Revival, the Pre-Raphaelites, Aesthetic Movement, Expressionism, Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau. That was quite unlike any other period.
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
