Art Nouveau brass lamp
Spectacular Art Nouveau brass and copper table lamp, tall floral scroll foot supporting a cage with oil canister, all on a palmette shaped base, unsigned but in the style of W.A.S. Benson; antique English, 1890s. Originally an oil lamp, with later electricity fittings; requires wiring.
Condition: Antique — missing one screw, requires electrical fitting
Art Nouveau was a major international style dominating the art, architecture and design between about 1890 and the mid-1910s. It took its inspiration from the nature and used the forms of flowers, trees, birds, animals and insects in design elements.
