View condition. Traditional decanter with cut glass panelled pattern of a barrel shape, commonly known as a Nelson shape, set with a spiky spire stopper, of the Late Georgian style. Perfect for serving port, sherry and table wine; antique English 1840s.

Condition: some surface wear, chip on the stopper tip

Style notes — late Georgian period mainly refers to the early 19th century, up to 1838. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
