What does Final Sale mean?
If an item is marked "Final Sale" this means that it can only be returned for a Store Credit. Refund will not be issued for any returned "Final Sale" items.
Will you be getting that lovely item back in stock?
Most of our stock items are vintage or antique, meaning they are practically one of a kind. However, Lavish Shoestring is the biggest online retailer of its kind. This means, often we are able to find something very similar or actually an item produced in the same series! When you see any item that you'd like that isn't currently in stock, click on the "+ to Your Lavish Wishlist" link and let us know! We also stock a small selection of non-vintage items, and often they can be re-ordered, and if we have enough interest we do our best to get more of those.
Antiques & Vintage - where do you find them?
All over the world! We carry a truly broad variety of things, and all of them come from different places: private people like you are, auctions & antique dealers, our own buyers.
- We encourage the public to sell us their unwanted vintage & antiques, instead of throwing them away. They earn money, we recycle, the Earth is happy, and you enjoy!
- We have our own network of buyers who scour the world to bring you the best goodies.
Wherever we get our stock from – we always aim to work with small local businesses in order to support them. We absolutely love to source our items from all over, because it means we can bring you the best and most unique variety.
Jewellery – Where do you find those items?
We work with a company who is a professional industry leader in sourcing vintage & antique jewellery. They assess each and every item to determine the correct metal, diamonds, stones etc; they clean and restore each item professionally, so you can buy your perfect jewellery with a total peace of mind, that it is genuine and green! We never ever order or sell new jewellery, diamonds or stones – there is more than enough gold, silver, platinum and other precious metals already produced on the second hand market, as well as diamonds and other precious stones and gems that had already been mined. There is absolutely no need to keep mining and scarring our Earth for more to satisfy jewellery needs. We only need to re-use what’s already there.
Can I use more than one coupon or gift voucher on my order?
No, sorry! Our system only accepts the last coupon or voucher code entered. The codes cannot be combined.
Why don't I get LavishShoestring emails?
We like to keep in touch with our community, so we send our members emails about fun features, contests, and sales, in addition to other news and important order info. We also take care to respond personally to every customer email that we receive. So, if you’ve joined LavishShoestring or subscribed to our Newsletter but aren’t receiving these emails, or if you’re simply having trouble communicating with us, we’re sorry! Email providers, such as Gmail, Yahoo!, and Hotmail can mistakenly block LavishShoestring messages as spam, and many of our customers who have these addresses don't receive our messages at all. If your address is through one of those providers, this is most likely the reason. But, you can adjust your settings to make sure our emails get to your inbox and not your spam folder. Here’s how to do it with Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo.

How do I change my email preferences?
If you’ve joined LavishShoestring, you’re automatically set to receive emails about our fun features and contests, exclusive opportunities, and first-to-know info, as well as other news and important order info. But, you can also customize the types of messaging you wish to receive. Wish to do that? First make sure you’re signed in, then click on ‘My Account’ at the top of the page to access your email settings. From there, you can select, adjust, or limit your email preferences as you wish!
Where LavishShoestring’s products are manufactured?
We search the globe to bring you the best quality, best design, rare items. The majority of those vintage & antique items were produced long time ago in the UK, Continental Europe, Russia and North America. Small portion of the items are Chinese and Japanese in origin that long time ago had been specifically produced for the European market. All those items are distinctively unique, and the production in the Far East did not mean “cheap” at the time, but rather “unparalleled” anywhere in the world.

I really like that ring, but it is not in my size. What do I do?
Because we sell vintage & antique jewellery, very rarely we have the same ring in more than one size. But this should not deter you from buying what you like! Most ring resizing is an extremely simple and fast process. Your local jeweller, whether it is a small shop or a large chain, and sometimes a pawnbrokers shop, should usually offer this service. The cost is usually about £20 per simple ring, and will depend on the difference between the sizes and some other factors.
What shipping materials LavishShoestring uses?
Currently we use recycled shipping materials as much as possible. For packing and wrapping fragile items we use leftovers of foam
My order status is indicated as “pending” - what does that mean?
"Pending" just means that our system successfully received your order! Once the order leaves our fulfillment center, we’ll email you a tracking number, and your order status will change to “shipped”.
Oh, no! An item I love is out of stock! What can I do?
No worries – add it to your Lavish Wishlist and we will notify you when a similar item is in stock. That way, whenever the item comes back, you'll be the first person to find out!
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, to 61 countries! Currently we are working on lowering international shipping costs even further. We use FedEx and DHL couriers, and our packages reach most destinations within 1-2 working days – that’s very fast! Read all about it on our shipping information page!
Why do you keep sold items in your gone category on your site?
We keep sold items up on the page so that our customers get an idea of what styles and types of items we get for sale. If you fancy any of the items that have been sold, just add them to your Lavish Wishlist and we will notify you when a similar item is available. Where’s my return?
Returns are usually processed within about 1-2 business days after we receive your package, and we’ll email you as soon as we open it! In the meantime, you can keep track of your package with the tracking number listed on your return shipping label.
Can I return or exchange my free gift or gift card?
Sorry, but our free gifts cannot be returned or exchanged for other items.
